Stay safe when buying and selling on FayoLink

Meet in a Safe Public Place

Meet in a busy public place — a shopping mall, known café, fuel station, or bank — not a private home or isolated area.
Avoid meeting at home or in isolated areas, especially for a first meeting.
Bring a friend or family member, and tell someone else where you're going and when.
Meet during daylight hours whenever possible.

Inspect the item in person and test that it works before handing over any money.
For electronics, power the device on, check the IMEI/serial number, and confirm it matches the listing.
For cars, verify the Libre (vehicle registration document) matches the seller's ID, and check for any outstanding loan or dispute before paying.
For land or property, verify the ownership document (ካርታ / landholding certificate) at the local sub-city or kebele land office — never rely on photos of documents alone.

Never send money in advance for an item you haven't seen or received in person.
Be cautious of deals priced far below market value — verify carefully before proceeding.
Never share your bank PIN, mobile money PIN, or one-time SMS codes with anyone — Fayolink will never ask for these.
Fayolink does not process payments between buyers and sellers — arrange payment directly with the other party and always keep a receipt or transaction reference.

Never share your account password with anyone.
Be cautious of messages claiming to be from Fayolink that ask for your password or payment details — we will never ask for these.
Keep your early conversations on Fayolink when you can, especially before you've met in person.
Report suspicious users or listings using the Report button on the listing page.
